I’m very excited to welcome first time guest author
C.P. Mandara. The interview was so
candid and so much fun, I’d like to hop straight to it, but I promised wicked
and wanton so we’ll take care of that business first. C.P.’s new release is Desiring Death, a hot, erotic vamp tale.
Let’s pause here while you go grab a fresh pair of
panties, a damp cool cloth, and your battery operated boyfriend (the real thing
will do if he/she is available) because I’ve read the excerpt and you’re going
to need all of the above. Yowza!

Blurb/Synopsis:
Violetta is an executioner… of vampires. Famed for her
fiery beauty and mesmerising personality, she has never failed an assignment.
Monsieur Martinet is no ordinary vampire, though. He
is a master at his craft and can control humans with the merest flick of his
eyelids. The vampire huntress with the porcelain skin and flaming red hair has
killed all of his brethren, without exception. He now seeks the ultimate
revenge: her submission in HIS bed.
If he’s allowed to stay alive long enough, that is.

Excerpt for Desiring
Death:
‘Ready to call me God yet?’ He brought his head up out of the
water, shook his hair to get rid of the excess water and watched as he
splattered her body with tiny pearls of water, lit up by nothing more than the
wan light of a waxing moon. While they were on the subject of waxing, that hair
she had down there would have to go, but he’d issue his demands later. Right
now, he wanted her limp, panting and breathless.
‘You’re an asshole.’ His princess had the most delicious temper.
He wondered if they should work to subdue it or if he would let it have full
reign and then show her the consequences of such displays of emotion. They
would not be tolerated in the vampire world, and even though he was not yet
positive he would change her, the odds of it happening were beginning to look
ever more favourable.
He blinked at her, slowly, several times and then pressed his
index finger sharply against her sphincter. He gave her a lengthy sigh to make
sure she sensed his displeasure at her curt comment. ‘No, darling, this is an
asshole and I intend to do big things with it later. That will take some
practise though, so you can breathe easy for the time being.’ A hand forked
through his hair to bring the dark mass away from his face and his face dipped
below the surface of the water once more, seeking the sweet spot of her body
which tasted far better than any human food ever had.
He suckled and tongued. Flicked, forked, pulsated and tickled, and
just as her face creased up tightly with the painful effort of holding her
orgasm back, he stopped. He withdrew his tongue, licked his lips and tilted his
head towards her with the biggest smile on his face.
‘You…’ her voice was tight and venomous. It was clear she was in
pain, the pleasurable kind at least. He cut her off before the woman earned a
spanking her bottom couldn’t yet cash.
‘You call me an asshole again and I’ll stretch this tight little
hole of yours to proportions you would not believe possible.’ Withdrawing his
fingers from her pussy, he pressed his now lubricated fingers against the
smaller, puckered hole that was a touch further down and pressed forward for
entry.
‘No, no, please God, no,’ she whimpered, her body thrashing and
bucking at the contact as she sank into the wet wasteland of ripples below her.
He raised an eyebrow. ‘I told you you’d be calling me God before
the night was out, didn’t I?’ Satisfied that she’d come down from her high, he
lowered himself back down into the water and began to work her over again. He
lightly nibbled upon her inner thighs, blew more bubbles gently across her sex
and gave her only the lightest of teasing, tormenting touches with his tongue.
His fingers pulled no punches, however. They worked inside her with a
consistent, steady rhythm and she was now copiously dribbling with her body’s
own lubrication, more than ready to feel his cock pounding away inside her. It
would be, too.

Maddie’s Intimate Authors Corner
Maddie: What
inspired you to take the plunge and write/publish that first book?
C.P.: Actually,
it’s a miracle that I ever did publish a book, because the first novel I wrote
was rejected by several publishers. I was in floods of tears and vowed never to
write another word ever again. It took a further three years for me to put pen
to paper again and I only applied to two publishers, so the chances of being
taken on were slim at best. I didn’t realise back then, that you had to apply
to hundreds of the places to get a realistic chance at acceptance. Thankfully,
ChimeraBooks got back to me and said, ‘We’d love to have you,’ and I’ve never
looked back.
Maddie: A story
similar to mine. Thank goodness for the perseverance, obstinance and down right mulishness of us authors or there
would be no books to read!
How much of your books are based on your own personal
experiences?
C.P.: Err,
cough, ahem. Let’s just say there are lots of places on the web that you can
find really in depth research for the kind of things I write about. I also love
the BDSM group on GoodReads because they have lots of valuable resources that
often make their way into my books. I’m not adverse to the odd spot of personal
research, though J
Maddie: How
deliciously naughty of you. I like it!
Is there a message in your novel that you want readers
to grasp or is it simply an outlet for your deepest, darkest fantasies?
C.P.: Oh, they
are the darkest, naughtiest of fantasies, and my books are purely for
entertainment value. I add a bit of sarcastic humour on occasion and there’s
plenty of drama, but you can rest assured there will be a knight in shining
armour (of sorts…) as well.
Maddie: What is
your biggest challenge as an author?
C.P.: Finding
time in the day to write. There is never enough time to do anything. I’ve
decided to let the house rot, though, against the wishes of my husband haha –
to make time for more books.
Maddie: C.P.
there is this wonderful thing called a housekeeper. Get one, stat! My cleaning angel comes every Monday morning and I
will sell blood, plasma and even my hubby's sperm (manually extracted by me if
need be) to keep my glorious angel. Sigh…
Back to business.
Reviews, getting them good or bad are a nature of the business. What do you think about reviews? Do you take
them personally, use them as an opportunity for growth or change, or do you
just get royally pissed off??
C.P.: Good
reviews are great, bad reviews can also be great if they’re helpful. If you
didn’t like the book, tell me why and I’ll try and improve. If I just get a
review that says, ‘that book was pants,’ there’s not a lot I can do with it.
I’ve had too many reviews of all kinds now to let them upset me. Your book
costs too much, your book isn’t long enough, I don’t like cliffhangers… That
one always makes me smile because I love cliffhangers. There is no better
feeling in the world than reading a really good book and eagerly anticipating
the sequel! I LOVE cliffhangers.
Maddie: I’ve
seen bad reviews really sell books, too. Comments like ‘too perverted for me’ or ‘sick with a capital S’ are
intriguing and actually backfire on the reviewer if they are trying to
discourage. People 1-click just to find out how sick and perverted it really is. LOL
What advice would you give to aspiring writers?
C.P.: Do not
give up. It’s a hard industry even for those that have been writing for years.
Making a name for yourself takes lots of time, marketing takes lots of research
and time, and writing books is hard enough in itself. Keep striving to make
each book better and you’ll get there in the end. Take on ‘the glass if half
full attitude’ and try and make plenty of friends in the industry. Be nice, and
you’ll often find people are nice in return.
Maddie: Over
the past year, or more, e-publishing has seen a
crack down on erotic content especially with titles and cover art, as an
erotica author, have you had any problems with that? How have you been affected and what do you
see as the future impact on authors?
C.P.: I am
thoroughly annoyed by most of it. Stephen King and horror writers in general
can write about all sorts of really nasty things and children under the age of
eighteen can buy and read them. They include things much worse than those which
are currently being censored in erotica, for the most part, and erotica should
only be available for purchase to over eighteens. It’s censorship pure and
simple, and it makes me cross. Why are we so uptight about sex? The Fifty
Shades of Grey revolution, in contrast, has been quite nice. It’s introduced
the world of kink to the masses and is trying to demonstrate that sex is meant
to be fun. Kink isn’t for everyone, but having a great sex life certainly helps
foster a good relationship between couples. The main word is safe, sane and
consensual. As long as things are kept firmly between consenting adults,
everyone is happy .
Maddie: Amen,
sister! We can detonate, obliterate and
make things bleed ad nauseum, but show a little skin or something that is
purely natural and fun, and <gasp> people’s panties are in a wad. Tsk tsk tsk.
It’s rather warped.
Since
becoming an author, I rarely have time to read (and that’s such a shame). What are you reading right now?
C.P.: I’m
exactly the same. It’s all writing these days and no time for reading! But I do
have to confess that I have recently started reading J A Huss and I think she’s
fabulous. I’m working through her entire catalogue, but right now I’m on
‘Panic’ in the Rook and Ronin series.
Maddie: Do you
read outside of the genre you write? If
so, what do else do you enjoy to read?
C.P.: I read
anything and everything. Fiction, non-fiction, biographies, erotica, thrillers,
romance, sci-fi, paranormal and fantasy. The only genre I rarely read is
horror. I’m not a fan of scary movies, either lol!
Maddie: Who is
your favorite author/why?
C.P.: Anne
Stuart. I love her dark romances, especially the ‘Ice’ series. Ms Stuart
creates amazing tension and her good guys are rarely particularly good, but
they do the right thing in the end. I could read her books and again and again.
She writes the best anti-heroes I have ever come across.
Maddie: When my
face is not stuck in front of my laptop writing, I love old movies; sitting
down with a big tub of buttery popcorn and a huge icy coke is the best! Do you do have movie night? If so what would you be watching?
C.P.: I have no
time for movies at the moment, oh woe is me, but I do confess to having watched
the ‘Twilight’ series several times.
Maddie: Do your
friends/family know you write erotic fiction?
C.P.: Yes, but I do not tell them my pen name. It saves embarrassing quotes at the dinner table, and on facebook for that matter!
Maddie: What is
your #1 guilty pleasure?
C.P.: Chocolate.
I would say it beats sex, but it doesn’t… quite. Although there are certain
brands that come quite close… unless we’re talking kinky sex and that’s a
different matter entirely J
Maddie: Tell me
5 fun facts (sexy or naughty are also allowed) about yourself that people close
to you don’t know.
C.P.:
1. I like listening to boy bands (Oh the shame of it!)
2. I hide chocolate around the house (to prevent my
other half from eating it all in one go.)
3. I have an incredible stash of naughty books on my
iPad (which is probably not a great surprise.)
4. I have two riding crops in my closet (always have a
back-up in case you break the first.)
5. Only two
people in the world actually know who C.P. Mandara really is!
Maddie: It has
truly been a pleasure to have you on, C.P.
If you ever get to the States, we’ll have to get together for a chat
over a few lemon drops because we have a lot in common.
Thanks to all of my Wicked Wanton readers for dropping by. Come back next week when my guest author will
be Dinah McLeod. Have a wonderfully
naughty week!

About the Author:
Christina (C.P.) Mandara was born in the UK, but has
spent most of her life travelling the world. She speaks three languages and has
been chiefly employed in the fields of finance and travel. Her favourite city
is Sydney and her favourite holiday destination is the south of France.
She loves keeping fit and enjoys running, cycling and water
sports. No, not those kinds of water sports; think surfing or sailing. That
doesn’t mean that she doesn’t enjoy BDSM in all of its glorious forms, be that
pony girls, bondage, edge play, orgasm denial or a damn good spanking. Her
favourite item in the toy closet (a box simply isn’t big enough) is her riding
crop.
In her spare time she’s usually cuddled up with a good
book, exploring the countryside or baking in the kitchen. In fact, she loves
her kitchen so much she’s one of few woman who wouldn’t mind being tied to it!
Her first and foremost love is writing, however, and more often than not you’ll
find her on a laptop spinning tales of romance, erotica or dark, paranormal
fantasies.
