The Jackson Brothers are Back With a Sneak Preview on #SatSpanks

Saddle up for a trip back in time to the old west, specifically 1880 Laramie, Wyoming and the Jackson's Silverbend Ranch.  This weekend on #SatSpanks I'm excited to bring you a sneak preview of Wild Wisteria, Book 3 in my Jackson Brothers Trilogy.  This is middle brother Luke's story, full of emotion, adventure, humor, romance and all the smoking hot action you'd expect from one of those sexy Jackson brothers.

My unofficial blurb:

Luke Jackson was drawn to beautiful, violet-eyed, impetuous Wisteria Turner from the first moment he saw her. Alone in a strange town and in trouble with the law, Luke wants to help her. But she doesn't trust anyone but herself. In a moment of weakness, Wisteria is swept off her feet by the handsome man. But the next morning, after one night of incredible passion, a terrible misunderstanding occurs that drives these ill-fated lovers apart.

During the time she's away, Wisteria encounters one tragedy after another, and more trouble. On the run once again, she has no choice but to seek out her brother's help back in Laramie. She stays out of sight, living quietly in Luke's hometown, until she is forced to reveal herself and the secret she has been hiding, one so shocking, Luke won't be able to walk away, even if he wanted to.

Can the firm handed man forgive the woman who stole much more than his heart? And can Wisteria put aside the pain of her past and learn to trust, depending on her man to keep her safe?

The setup:

Wisteria plans to get what belongs to her, no matter what the narrow-minded judge said.  That her horse is in a Jackson barn, only gives her momentary pause.  With a storm threatening, Luke Jackson plans to get the wild girl safe and warm, then talk some sense into her.  But plans often change, don’t they…

*****

My snippet:

Something wide, hard and quite unforgiving came down sharply on her backside.  Instantly, she shut up, but only for a second, then she twisted, glancing up at him over her shoulder.

“Did you just spank me?”

“You betcha, and there’s plenty more of that if you don’t stop wriggling around and start doing what you’re told.”

“I can’t believe—you just can’t—ooo!” she spluttered nonsensically at first, then howled, “how dare you!” and began kicking and hitting him for all she was worth.  Stupid on a moving horse, true, but she wasn’t exactly thinking rationally after all she’d been through, least of all being unceremoniously carried off by a manhandling bear of a man.  When she made no headway with her thrashing, she turned her head and bit him,

A Tale of Passion and Crime from Rachel De Vine on Wicked Wanton Wednesday

Another first time author is visiting for the first time today.   Woo hoo! Love that.  Let's give a great big Wicked Wanton Wednesday welcome to the lovely Rachel De Vine.

Rachel:  Thank you so much. Maddie.  I brought my cover, which I love, and some excerpts from my new book, That Day At The Lake.  How nice of you to kindly agree to host me to publicise.

Maddie:  You're very welcome, Rachel.   I developed WWW as an author platform so publicizing (a.k.a. pimping) is always welcome.

Rachel:  This is a tale of passion and crime, love and despair, which could either bring them both great happiness, or end up in the death of them both.  I hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

I admit to doing a bit of Amazon stalking to get to know Rachel a little better and was thrilled to come across a candid bio. This line in particular caught my eye...

"...I often fall in love and lust with my leading male character when I am writing about him. I am a fickle woman, though, because as soon as I begin a new book a new male character takes his place."

~~ Rachel De Vine

Maddie:  I've seen many self-proclaimed experts warn authors not to fall in love with their characters (there is no mention of the lust part <wink>), I was happy to hear that you are like me, and poo-poo that advice.

Personally, I feel strongly that if an author doesn't love the romantic lead, or identify with the heroine, and most important of all, doesn't despise the villain, how is the reader to feel the same depth of emotion?   You run the risk of lacking chemistry, or come across as contrived or "forced" (I hate that critique).

“In writing, you must kill all your darlings.”
 — William Faulkner

I'm sorry, Mr. Faulker, I must strongly disagree.  Besides, I think romance is a unique genre and must be treated a wee bit differently.  If we killed off our darlings, heroes (whether perfect or flawed), or our Doms, I think our readers would revolt.  I know my betas would.  LOL

That's my soapbox for today,  Thanks for getting me started Rachel.  Now, let's get to the reason for gathering here and take a look at Rachel's latest "darlings" in That Day At The Lake
 .

Adriana has adored Luca since his father rescued her from an abusive man in Naples, Italy, when she was just eight years old.  Her one wish when she was growing up was that Luca would fall in love with her and that they would marry.  However, life is never as simple as that.  Luca’s father is a Mafia member, and is killed by a gang member, and the two children are torn apart, seemingly forever.

Some years later they meet again, and Luca is now a successful businessman, but he is also involved in minor criminal activities and has become involved in a BDSM lifestyle as a Dom, and, although he is attracted to Adriana, he is reluctant to involve the shy, sexually inexperienced girl in his world.

Adriana takes matters into her own hands, and visits a BDSM club to try to persuade Luca to see her in a different light.  He capitulates, and some hot, sexy activity takes place between them.  However, just as their relationship is beginning, Luca’s criminal past catches up with him, and he finds himself in trouble with the law, due to a jealous gangster turning on him.

He goes back to Italy to solve his problems, followed by Adriana.  But there they face great danger, with the possibility of not only going to jail, but of losing their lives.  Adriana and Luca have survived their early life traumas, but was this threat one that will prove fatal to them both?  Will fate for once be kind to them and allow them to be reunited once more?

*****

Here is a little excerpt from the book:

I woke to find the sun streaming through the bedroom window.  Looking up with one eye opened and the other still closed, I saw that Luca was awake, lying on one side and looking down on me.

“Good morning.  Do you want to talk Adriana?”

“No, I just want to fuck.  Oh, good morning by the way.”

“For a prospective sub you are becoming a little demanding.”

“Sorry, am I not supposed to want sex?”

“There’s absolutely nothing wrong with you wanting sex, in fact it is a condition of you being here in bed with me.  It’s just that a good little sub waits to be asked.”

“Sorry.  Then of course I will withdraw that demand and lie here to await your pleasure.”

“Good, a fast learner, that’s what I like.”

Take a Ride on the Decadence Kinky Carousel on #SatSpanks

Welcome #SatSpanks devotees.  This is my last week pimping What About Love, the final chapter in my Club Decadence series.  I’ll be back next week with a sneak peek at my upcoming historical western release, Wild Wisteria, the third in my Jackson Brothers trilogy.  Another series wrapped up, it’s bittersweet.  Maybe I’ll do a cover reveal then as well.

But I digress.

Today, I wanted to leave you with a bit of teasing intrigue from What About Love.  Those of you who read Master My Love will be familiar with Decadence LA and the unique carousel that I present in this snippet.  In this clip, Angie who has gone undercover as a submissive to catch a serial killer is going to have to take a ride to help lure him in.  Unfortunately, being a newbie, she’ll have to see it to believe it.  J

What About Love
Club Decadence Book 6

The snippet:
(Creatively edited to meet my line limit, sort of)

“Can someone please explain exactly what the carousel is?” She imagined a merry-go-round with naked subs riding plastic horses; how bad could that be? “If all of the missing women did something, uh, special, I suppose I will have to as well, to lure him in.”

Her glance took in T’s darkened expression, his mouth set into a hard line, his gaze stormy like a troubled sea. Uh-oh. She swallowed her dread.

Abruptly, a flash of De Sade’s Justine where the female lead was strapped to a wheel of torture came to mind. That and intense scenes from the other books she’d read in preparation for her role, including the Story of O and Crash Into You—the latter specifically because the heroine was an undercover submissive like herself—flashed vividly before her eyes.

“T,” she whispered.

He stood and grabbed her hand. “Come on, I’ll show you the carousel.”

The blurb:

On the outside looking in for years, Angela Hixson thinks she knows what the BDSM club scene and lifestyle are all about from watching her friends with their dominant husbands and attending “Little Black Dress” Nights in the lounge at Club Decadence. But when her boss tags her to go undercover as bait for a serial killer at a BDSM club in LA, she learns she has no idea what being submissive really means.

Partnered with Antonio “Lil T” Minelli, sexy as hell ex-Green Beret turned security and covert ops specialist for Rossi Security, and the last available Decadence Master, Angie must guard her heart or risk losing it to the one man who has the power to make her kneel in surrender. He is also a man who has made no secret that marriage, family and love aren’t for him. Instead, having sworn off relationships beyond the walls of his club, he meets his needs with an available, willing submissive, making it clear up front not to expect more than an unforgettable night.

Thrown together again and again, at work, at play, and in near constant emotionally charged situations, Angie and Lil T fight their attraction, but succumb to their undeniable desire. The chemistry between them is explosive, as is the sex. As Angie falls under the spell of his expertly wielded flogger, her fears come to fruition when she realizes she’s lost her heart and given her love to a man who swears he doesn’t have it in him to give in return. In time, she sees past the fun loving, player exterior to the tortured man beneath. Can she convince him to take a chance, to entrust his damaged heart into her loving hands and try again? Or will he reinforce the shields he’s built over the past decade and push her away, losing her forever?

What About Love is the final installment in the Club Decadence series. Catch up with old friends in this fast paced, action packed story, full of as much BDSM adventure and romance as the others in Maddie Taylor’s popular series.

Raw and Dirty Felicity Brandon in the Author's Spotlight

Welcome to a special edition of WWW with an Author's Spotlight today.  My guest, Felicity Brandon, is hear to shine some light on her new erotica novel, Submission at the Tower.  Previously, writing short stories and participating in anthologies (check out her Amazon Author Page to learn more), Felicity is now branching out into longer, more in depth story lines and has teamed up with Stormy Night Publications to bring them to us.

Ain't life grand!

Let's take a look at Submission at the Tower by Felicity Brandon...

Blurb:

"This is not a love story. This is the story of the hunger inside of me which must be fed before it consumes me entirely…"

After a chance encounter with a handsome stranger introduces her to The Tower, an institution that trains women in submission, Janie McClusky is irresistibly drawn to the place. But admittance comes at a price, and soon enough Janie is utterly bare and fully on display, blushing crimson as the men at The Tower thoroughly explore her body, bringing her pain, pleasure, and shame as they see fit.

As Janie’s training begins, there is one man among the group who seems to know her own needs better than she does, and before long she finds herself yearning and even begging for his touch. But if she relinquishes control completely to this captivating stranger and allows him to break down her remaining defences, will there be any coming back at all?

Publisher’s Note: Submission at The Tower is an erotic novel that includes spankings, sexual scenes, extensive BDSM content, exhibitionism, anal play, and more. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

The excerpt:

He laughs again and kisses me firmly on the lips. The taste of him is so exquisite. Somehow I can’t quite remember how I ever did without it. Was there a woman who was independent of this man? Is it possible that I may have been her less than a few hours ago?

As the kiss concludes, he pulls away and examines my expression curiously.

“What are you thinking now?” he asks, still holding my wrists gently.

I feel the heat rising in my face as I answer, but for the first time I feel as though I really can be honest with him—and myself.

“I am wondering if I’m not already addicted to you, sir…” I begin, watching his lips turn from amusement to something else. “And I wonder if there is a cure?”

“Do you want to be cured, Janie?” he whispers, kissing the nape of my neck with unexpected force.

I arch my body, pushing my breasts forward to accept him and know the answer to his riddle already. I swallow hard.

“No…”

My voice is back to that small whisper it had been earlier—so quiet and yet so sure.

Shaw raises his head to look at me and nods knowingly.

“That’s what I thought…” he says sensually. “I wonder if I am leading you down a dangerous avenue, little one.”

I stare at him anxiously, waiting for him to elaborate.

“Not the whips and the chains!” he says, bursting with laughter. “They are for our amusement, but you will always have the choice to consent or otherwise. You haven’t read the paperwork yet, you haven’t had the chance to discuss your biggest fears or your worst desires.”

His face changes as he explains. I wonder if he is imagining what my worst desires might be. I squirm again as I replay them through my mind; they are vivid and distracting.

“Then what, sir?” I ask, almost too afraid to hear his answer.

He looks down at me as I sit in his lap, drinking in my midriff and the curves of my breasts.

“You are truly beautiful,” he says, lost in thought. “Almost too inviting… Yet I expect the physical attraction. I even expect the intellectual one. Most women who choose to submit are strong-willed and intelligent. Our job is less about controlling them and more about inspiring them to serve.”

I listen and wait, knowing that he is preparing me for the main point.

“But you, Janie—”

He tugs my hair gently as he speaks, suddenly so utterly consumed with me. For a moment I don’t think I can take another breath…

“You are something different. You might be able to inspire me to command, to make me a better master, and that would be truly something.”

He breaks his insistent eye contact and I realise I’ve been holding my breath.

“I don’t know, little one. This is day one after all. Perhaps this is a wave that will wash over us both?”

I gaze at him, watching his full lips as he speaks, as though I almost can’t quite believe what I am hearing.

“I don’t want it to,” I say finally. “I want it to consume me, sir. I want to drown in it.”

He shakes his head as though he can’t listen anymore, but I carry on.

“I mean it,” I continue, wondering how far I can push him without reprisals. “I want the wave to take me, sir. I want to surrender. There must be worst ways to go?”

He places one of his long fingers over my lips, silencing me. I can smell my own musky arousal on his digit and I have the strongest urge to take it in my mouth and suck it as I did earlier during my audition. He says nothing but drills into me with those dazzling eyes. I have the strangest feeling that he is looking into my soul.

“Let us see where the wave takes us. I know I am going to enjoy the ride and I can guarantee our mutual satisfaction. Maybe we’ll be washed to shore, I just don’t know yet, but you can be certain of one thing…”

I gaze up at him from his chest, breathing in the scent of his masculinity as I do.

“What’s that, sir?” I ask, my voice betraying the curiosity I feel.

He looks down at me for a long, hard moment before he answers.

“I won’t let you drown.”

Maddie’s Intimate Author’s Corner

Maddie:  As a first time guest in my author spotlight, I’d like for my readers to get to know Felicity Brandon a little bit.  Tell me five things about yourself that you would want a new acquaintance to know.

Felicity:  Thank you so much for having me here at your blog, Maddie!

Here’s five things that Felicity is passionate about:

  1. Reading and writing – not a surprise, but I have always loved to do both and I still do!
  2. Eating and drinking – yep, I do love to eat! My favourite foods are a good steak, Italian and Chinese food, plus a good English roast dinner… Yummy!
  3. Sex, sex and more sex – I am a seriously sexual person, so aside from writing about sexual chemistry and burgeoning sexual relationships, I also enjoy researching the subject with my wonderful hubby…
  4. Civil liberties and human rights – I studied politics and society at university, and still ardently support the fight for equality and social justice.
  5. The paranormal – proving that I like *all* things which go bump in the night!

Maddie:  Eating, drinking, reading and having sex, sounds wonderful and very relaxing.  I wonder if anyone has ever tried to them all at one time?  Hm, didn't George on Seinfeld do that?  LOL  No wonder he was single!  Any who, I'm feeling a little silly today, and nosy...

I have to admit to doing some internet stalking and found your Amazon Author Page.  Girl, you have 12 published works!  I know you are new with Stormy Nights Publishing, what have you been doing before them and why make the change now?

Felicity:  Ha ha! Good stalking, Maddie! Yes, I have had a number of erotic pieces published before “Submission at The Tower” – various short stories, anthologies and a novella. All of them have a dominance and submission and/or bondage theme. I’d had lots of positive feedback about my writing, but the one thing that readers always asked me for was a longer story and this led me into writing my first novel, “Submission at The Tower”. I was so excited when Stormy Night Publishing wanted to help me bring my own version of “Submission” to the world!

Maddie: Congratulations for finding a wonderful team to work with!  Your cover is incredibly HOT!  And that blurb...

“This is not a love story. This is the story of the hunger inside of me which must be fed before it consumes me entirely…”

I was drawn in by the first lines, then when I saw a reviewer write “If you are looking for a wine and roses romance, this is not it!”  I knew this wasn’t going to be your usual, run of the mill boy meets girl, boy spanks girl, and boy and girl live happily every after erotic romance fare.  How did you get your start writing outside the mainstream, skirting the edges (or perhaps obliterating those edges) of dark erotic fantasy?  I gotta know.

Felicity:  I apologise if this sounds like a cliché, but the truth is I have always written *this* way. I suppose I have always tried to write the books that I want to read (and can rarely find on the market), and this has been my primary objective. I acknowledge the fact that I do not write ‘chocolate box’ romances. I like my romances to be raw and dirty, with animal passion and as much D/s sex thrown in as possible! If this equates to ‘writing outside of the mainstream’ (and I believe that you may be right on that point), then I guess that’s all I know how to write! I just hope that my readers enjoy the novel in all its unadulterated glory!

Maddie:  Never apologize for raw and dirty, where would erotica be without it?  Do you write under a pen name?  Or are you out there for the world to see?  Why or why not?

Felicity:  Yes, Felicity Brandon is my pen name. She was invented at the spur of the moment when I was first published and has really become a person in her own right since then! Initially Felicity existed so that I could write freely (without worrying about the stigma of writing BDSM erotic romance as an independent woman in the twenty-first century). Nowadays she literally has her own vision of where my writing will go and she generally gets it right.

Maddie: What do you like to read?  If I peeked in your kindle right now, what would I find in the front of your carousel?

Felicity:  I love to read books in the horror, crime, thriller and erotica genres. I seem to find solace and entertainment in dark scenario’s and most of my reads feature heavily sex and/or death. Make of that what you will!

Maddie:  What’s next on your writing calendar?

Felicity:  I am well into my next two novels. One is a potential follow up to “Submission at The Tower” and examines where Janie and Shaw’s story can go next… The other is a new erotic venture entirely for me, but one that I am particularly excited about!

Maddie:  I can't wait to hear more about the new venture, intriguing!  Thanks for being here today, Felicity.  Come back when you're ready to share the mysterious new one with the world!!

Megan Michaels and My Russian Master on Wicked Wanton Wednesday

She’s baaaaack!  Yes, Megan Michaels returns to WWW with another HOT one.  This time he’s Russian, a whip master and a chef.  What a combination!

Megan:  Maddie, thank you for having me on with my new book, My Russian Master.  You and I keep having books out at the same time.  You’re doing amazing!!!

Maddie: As is your new one!  And, we do seem to be in sync.  You turned out historical westerns a day apart, now we’ve both got a contemporary erotic BDSM neck and neck.  Too funny.  If your birthday is at the end of September, we’ve got to compare genealogy.  J  Can you tell me a bit about your book?

Megan: This book was born out of my love for a spanking site and wondering what would happen if you were able to meet the Russian man wielding the whip or belt.  And that’s how Maxim Volkov was born—the Russian Fitness Chef who is also a whip master and videographer.

I didn’t anticipate that Caroline would have an eating disorder, but it fell into place when she decided she wanted to lose weight. It isn't the focal point of the book, I kept it as much as I could in the background, but I do want to warn everyone that I've been told certain parts can be a trigger.  But I've also been told that it wasn't so harsh they had to stop reading, and that the love and happily ever after made it worth reading.

Maddie:  It sounds like a roller coaster ride, hot, sexy, poignant and moving.  I can’t wait.  Let’s get started.

Sometimes the road to happily-ever-after began with two simple words: “Yes, Sir.”

For CEO Caroline Turner certain truths were inescapable. No matter how powerful, successful, and pretty she was, it didn’t matter when it came to the number on her scale -- a number she wasn’t at all happy with. Like every other obstacle in her life though, she had a plan for overcoming it. The famous Maxim Volkov chef and fitness expert wasn’t cheap, and he wasn’t exactly falling in line with her wishes either, but he was perfect for the job … and extremely easy on the eyes. However alpha and devastatingly handsome the taciturn Russian might, he seemed to have a different understanding about who the boss was in their particular arrangement. She’d just have to put him in his place… and try to ignore the insane urge to kneel at his feet.

Taking the job offered by the spoiled, if intriguing American CEO was something Maxim wouldn’t normally do. He didn’t need the money, and he usually found Western women trying at best, maddening at worst. But something about the pretty Caroline spoke to him, her defiance, and acid-tongued ways hiding an appealing vulnerability he longed to bring to the fore. Despite her self-image, he saw little wrong with the curvy, brunette blonde beauty. Nothing wrong that is that couldn’t be cured with a little strict, bare bottom discipline, and some loving, sensual aftercare. That the appealingly disobedient, mouthy American woman would surrender to him was never in doubt.

The only question was when.

But behind Caroline’s strong, professional facade, something else lurked, a part of her painful past that threatened to endanger her future -- and perhaps her life. Hiding his own potentially explosive secrets, Maxim must help her finally put that dark chapter behind her -- no matter what it took, no matter how much she might fight it, no matter how much it hurt. Worse, hated competitors, circling like sharks, threatened to destroy all that Caroline had worked so hard to create.

Struggling with demons both internal and external, her last, best hope might just be a man as hard and implacable as a Siberian winter...

Publisher’s Warning: Intended for mature audiences. 18 and over only! This sensuous romance contains explicit sexual situations, spanking, and anal play. This book deals with eating disorders and could be a trigger for some. This book can be read as a standalone. Enjoyment of the novel will be enhanced by reading the previous entries in the series, but it’s not necessary.

“We will be weighing you next week. It has been four weeks since we started. I know you feel the clothes are fitting different. I see a change in your body; eating clean and working out has helped you tone up.” He broke the bread apart, spreading butter on it.

She’d pass on the bread — and definitely the butter. Just hearing that she’d be weighed next week sent her into a panic. She wanted to lose so much weight, so fast. She needed to show Derek that she’d lost weight — and that her Russian Fitness Chef had been worth the money.

“Bread?” He held up the plate.

“No. I don’t want any. Shouldn’t we avoid bread and butter? And why are we having pasta for dinner?”

He put the bread down,   staring at her with his head tilted as if confused by her words. “What is wrong, Lena? Why are you worried about carbs?”

“Nothing. No reason. I just always heard that to lose weight you were to have no sugar, no carbs, and no fat.” She toyed with her soup, rather than actually eating it.

“Lena, we’ve discussed this before. I know in your college days you struggled with bulimia and anorexia. I don’t want any of the losing weight to trigger these behaviors for you. Are you wrestling with eating disorder issues?” Maxim put his spoon down on the plate, leaning forward. “I know that Avery helped you overcome it. Do you feel that it is coming back? I need you to be honest with me.”

“N-no. I’m fine. I just want to eat the way I’m supposed to, and I wondered why we aren’t cutting out some of the things I listed. Th-that’s all.” She avoided eye contact, picking out the chunks of mushrooms in her soup and piling them on her plate.

That is until she felt his forefinger under her chin, raising her head up, forcing her to gaze into those dark eyes.

“That’s why you hired me, no? I will make sure you are eating right. Caro, do not lie to me on this. As I’ve said before, the whip is for good girls. But if anorexia or bulimia has you again, and you do not tell me? I swear that whip will be used on you as a bad girl. Clear?”

She swallowed. That wasn’t something she even wanted to think about. His belt had been more than enough. She shifted in her chair, gasping as her bottom rubbed against the polished wood, reminding her once again that she’d been sitting at the table half naked. Her clit throbbed, and her juices let down, pooling between the tight seam of her labia. She had indeed been struggling and now that she knew she’d be weighed next week, her mind was already running a list of things she’d do to assure that she would lose more than anyone expected.

“Yes.” She rolled her eyes. “I understand.”

“Nyet! Do not roll your eyes. Rude. Very rude.”

“I’m sorry.” She wondered again if she should confess that she was grappling with this and toying with the idea of embracing anorexia and bulimia once more.

“I’ve got you on this. I know just how to tone you up without you getting ill. But the emotional issues I can’t guess on. I can only assure you and support you.”

“I’ll… let you know.” How would she share this? This issue that had plagued her off and on for ten years, the disorder that she thought she’d fought and conquered, appeared to be creeping back into her life. How would she tell him? How do you explain that you desire to feel the hunger pains, that you want to go to sleep hearing your stomach growl? The need for control. The need to be in charge of every last detail of what you allow inside your body — or the forced expulsion of internal contents from your body. It wasn’t a topic that a woman just discussed with anybody.

But if she didn’t tell him, she’d be breaking his trust. She’d given a promise to let him know. Maybe he wouldn’t find out though? Perhaps she’d be able to lose this weight without him having a clue as to her methods.

Maxim rose, getting the still-warm pasta from the microwave and bringing her the bowl. It was too much food, especially if she was being weighed tomorrow. She didn’t want to have all those carbs in her body.

“Can I just have another bowl of soup instead?” She pushed it back from her spot.

“No. You will eat this.” He sat down, folding his hands in his lap, watching her. “Lena, talk to me.”

“Maxim, there’s nothing to discuss. I just don’t want pasta. Do I have to have it for dinner?”

Her anger started to rise, and she was dangerously close to losing control of her emotions. Weight had always done this to her; she’d find comfort and pacify herself with food, not caring about the consequences. And then, further down the road, when she became sick of her heaviness, she’d get emotionally unbalanced, and as a consequence, over restrict her food, dropping her caloric intake to dangerous levels. She’d even resort to using laxatives and appetite suppressants to excess, until her weight would drop again.

She needed — and wanted — to be placed on a scale, to know how she’d been progressing. Sometimes she’d check it several times a day, obsessing over each ounce gained, her spirits soaring or plummeting with each fluctuation. She found herself trying to be proactive by taking any measures necessary to ensure that her weight would be down the next day.

She knew without a shred of a doubt that she’d be taking actions everyday this coming week to make sure she had drastically decreased. Derek and Maxim would both see her mettle, and they’d know that once she set her mind to something, nothing stopped her.

“Of course, you don’t have to eat pasta. I just want you to have a balanced meal, but if you would like more soup, more soup you get. No worries. No anger.” He stood up, picking up her bowl, waiting for her to make eye contact. “I do not demand that you eat the dinner I place in front of you. But, as your dominant, I will blister your ass if you hurt yourself with food, yes?”

She swallowed. “Yes, Sir.”

Maddie’s Intimate Authors Corner

Today, I’m doing things a little different in the corner.  Usually we have a fun interview, but the sensitive subject matter of Megan’s book we both feel cannot go unaddressed.

Although My Russian Master is a work of fiction, eating disorders are a very real and serious problem.  Because both Megan and I have been impacted by eating disorders personally in our lives, we wanted to share some important information on where to look to get help.

Here are some surprising statistics from the National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders:
